The topic of wellness is everywhere-and rightfully so! We are all looking for ways to take care of ourselves so that we can show up authentically in our lives and for the people around us. This is especially true for Black women who are tasked with taking care of everyone, oftenat the expense of themselves. The Strong Black Woman identity has us wrapped around its finger, which makes engaging in activities that center our wellness uniquely challenging.

I can work with your group, organization, or company to provide workshops related to Black Women’s Wellness. I believe wellness is an important topic for all people, however, I know the unique challenges faced by Black women that make speaking directly to them on this topic vital. Discuss the impact of the Strong Black Woman Identity on Motherhood and how to be intentional about mothering in a way that allows Black Mothers to honor their humanity.

Moving Beyond the Mammie: Say Goodbye to Self-Sacrifice and Hello to Intentional Caregiving

Learn more about the Mammie trope that has Black Women feeling like they need to sacrifice themselves to care for everyone around them. Develop a path to being intentional about setting boundaries that make room for self-care and wellness.

**Workshops can be offered virtually or in-person. For in-person workshops, there may be an additional fee for travel and lodging if necessary. Workshops can be offered in 60 minute, 90 minute, or 2 hour sessions.
